Sandström´s epic Song to Lotta has become one of the most favourite pieces in the brass world - probably caused by the fact that it´s simplicity and "feel" leaves the audience with the sense of a heartfelt connection - the piece starts with only Vibraphone and Solo Trombone in the most transparent duet. The build-up through out the piece is also noticeable, like the way it calms down in the end, just like it started. An epic piece - no less!
