“Welcome to the future”  was born as a commission for the Inaugural Concert of the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference ITEC 2023, held on the campus of the School of Music, Dance and Theatre of Arizona State University, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the International Tuba and Euphonium Association ITEA.
 
            The piece opens with a fanfare-style call that leads into a festive and energetic Allegro that captures the passion the musicians have for their instruments.
            The central section is a slow melody, in homage to all those colleagues who have left us, with whom we have shared so much and from whom we have learned so much, so that they will always be present in our memory.
            The final part is a march that looks to the future with optimism, wishing that the music continues to sound in our instruments as it has done so far; with honesty, work, friendship, kindness, affection, dedication and passion.
