Saul og David - Prelude to 2. Act - by Carl Nielsen, arranged for Academic Brass Ensemble by Mogens Andresen.
Aged only 14, Carl Nielsen was hired in a military band located in Odese, Fyn - Denmark. His main job was on a valvetrombone in E flat, but also played on tenor horn, alto horn and bugle horn. Maybe that is one of the reasons why he was so good and interested in writing for Brass players - even in his symphony works his writing for Brass is exeptional - especially his symphonies no. 2, 3, 4 and 5 - and in the opera Saul and David.
The most known piece from his opera SauI and David is the prelude for the 2nd act - here presented to you in an academic Brass Ensemble arrangement by Mogens Andresen.
