Trombone and Tuba with Piano; "Concertante" by Howard J. Buss is dedicated to trombonist Tom Brantley and tubaist Joseph Alvarez. In this one-movement composition the trombone and tuba are treated as equal partners as they traverse a wide variety of sonic atmospheres. Energetic and sometimes fiery sections surround a beautiful and lyrical central part.
