Romance Op. 36 - by Camille Saint-Saens (1835-1921) - Arranged for French Horn and Piano by Brian Bindner.
Sains-Saens is one of the most important French composers from the epoch between Hector Berlioz and Claude Debussy. His vast oeuvre ranges from stage works, church compositions, vocal and even military music, symphonies and symphonic poems to various small forms. The Romance Op.36 belongs to the latter group. This piece is simply one of my all time favorite pieces - it it´s such a beauty.
Originally written for French Horn or Cello and piano, the master later conceived a version with a rich orchestral instrumentation.
