Riu, Riu, Chiu - Spanish Christmas Choral - arranged for Brass Quartet by Scott Ramsey.

This traditional Spanish Christmas carol in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary is of the type known as a 'villancico', dating from the 16th century. The song is a lesson in Catholic doctrine on the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady as well as the birth of Our Lord who came to redeem the world from the guilt of sin. Normally it is sung by a lone male voice, with a choir singing the chorus, and that is how this piece is arranged for Brass Quartet as well - with an optional Tambourine part included. The arrangement is suitable for beginner/intermediate performers.
