with Percussion Quartet; This work was commissioned by multi-wind performer, Richard Prior. While the first movement, Overture, and the third movement, Rondo, are set in modified traditional music forms, the second movement, Nearly the Blues, is set in a 3/4 blues format. In this movement, there is ample room for improvisation for all of the instruments (Bass Clarinet, Vibes, Timpani, and 2 multi-percussionists, although all parts are written out as well).
