Cantate Domine Canticum Novum - Composed By Hans Leo Hassler (1564-1612), Arranged for Brass Quintet By Dean W. Smith.

Hans Leo Hassler (in German, Hans Leo Haßler) (baptized 26 October 1564 – 8 June 1612) was a German composer and organist of the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras, elder brother of the less-famous Jakob Hassler. He was born in Nuremberg and died in Frankfurt am Main. This madrigal starts off in 4/4 and goes into a bouncing 3/4 section, then reverting to 4/4 with some wonderful counterpoint to finish off.
